This series immerses us in the world's most competitive, strategic and lucrative fishery: Canada's lobster fishery. Over the course of an entire fishing season, we follow four captains and their crews through the breathtaking scenery of Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. This town is located in Area 33, where the lobster season lasts 6 months instead of 2 in other fishing areas. This area is one of the most lucrative in the world.
Every year, over 70,000 tonnes of lobsters are caught, worth a total of $1 billion. These colossal stakes push crews to face up to all the dangers of the sea, where the slightest carelessness can be fatal, especially as the weather is unpredictable at this time of year.
