On January 27, 1968, the submarine "La Minerve" sank off the coast of Toulon with 52 crew members aboard. For over 50 years, the disappearance of this submarine remained a mystery. It was only in July 2019 that the wreck was found 45km from Toulon, at a depth of 2370m, following a new search by the French Ministry of the Armed Forces.
Hervé Fauve, son of the last commander of "La Minerve", testifies. He highlights the many years of investigations. Technical failure, collision, the beginnings of nuclear war? How did this giant of the seas take over half a century to be found? An investigation into what appears to be an affair of state.
