For seven out of ten French people, the nurturing garden has become their second favorite place after the kitchen. And with the health crisis, this idyll has intensified. So much so that today, vegetable gardens are everywhere, especially where you least expect them: on the roofs of our apartment buildings, in schools, department stores, even in prison. Putting one's hand to the soil has become one of the trendiest actions of our time.
But the indestructible bond between the French and their nourishing garden is not new. In this documentary, we retrace a long shared history: a must for royalty under Louis XIV, a vector of solidarity since the allotments of the late 19th century and even a propaganda tool during the Second World War, here's the unsuspected odyssey of our vegetable gardens.
