Hamsters, dwarf pigs, iguanas and pythons. Exotic pets, also known as "NAC" in French (Nouveaux Animaux de Compagnie), are gaining in popularity. Far from dethroning the classic cats and dogs, they nonetheless account for 10% of all pets adopted in France, representing an estimated population of around five million individuals. But caring for these original and cumbersome animals is no easy task, and keeping certain species poses a number of challenges... For several months, a team from "Reportages découverte" conducted an investigation.
